WELCOME
We are so glad you dropped by. We believe God has invited us into the ministry of Jesus, The Christ - to share his love with anyone and everyone; our Communion table (church) is God’s table – and all who seek a loving relationship with God through Jesus Christ are welcome here.
At La Vernia UMC, we are here to serve all of humanity – from the cradle to the rocking chair, we find that all are in need of God’s Grace. We currently have 623 members, with a combined average worship attendance of about 275, in a small town of 931. We serve a parish area of 15 mile radius with a population of 75,000 plus. We have 40 plus ministries which serve the congregation, community and beyond. We have a Child Care Ministry with 140 + children and a CrossFire Student Ministry with 70 -80 youth on Wednesday evenings. We have a Aging Gracefully Ministry with 50 + senior citizens on Wednesday mornings and lunch. LVUMC is a congregation who loves its pastors and staff and tries to follow Jesus’ command to “love one another as I have loved you.” We know no strangers, only friends we meet for the first time. We invite you to come join us.
Our Mission Statement is:
To Love God, Self and You
Our mission is based on The Great Commandment: Matt 22:37-39 (NKJV) Jesus said to him, “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
Our Vision Statement is:
To Serve, Share and Offer Christ
Our Vision is based on The Great Commission: Matt 28:19-20 (NKJV) "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, "teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
